police threatened by shouts from cars
Comment by police officer:
What really disturbs me the most after reading through a few pages of posts is that WAAAY too many of you are supporting the conduct of the cop. For starters, I'm a 22 year cop from 2 hours south of Rochester. I know the job. That arrest should never ever have happened and that clown who arrested her makes us all look bad. You young cops need to re-acquaint yourselves with the Constitution. Ya know, that Bill of Rights thingy that keeps getting in the way of you saving the world? A cop who will shit on the Constitutional rights of a citizen is a disgrace to the badge. If you do it out of ignorance, that's at least somewhat forgivable, but the pervasive "fuck the public" attitude I'm seeing in the posts is alarming. It's no surprise that the public opinion of cops these days is very low. You all should ask yourself how you would view that arrest if it were your sister or girlfriend who was "ordered" into her house. You stormtroopers need to get a clue. You have no right to order any law-abiding citizen to d anything. When he said he felt unsafe, that was disgraceful and cowardly. I have no respect for this guy and he doesn't belong on the job. Hopefully, the rest of you rookies learn from the colossal error in judgement we see here. I realize there are way too many non-cops trolling these boards and throwing their dumb-ass comments in, but way too many of you are supporting this arrest. That's bad police work.
Another comment:
If the cop felt threatened by the driver of the car who was already in handcuffs, he and the other officers should not have turned their backs on the driver. The police officer approached the woman standing on her property who's only threat was showing what the officer was doing. If the officer was doing nothing wrong, then there was no threat. Did the officer ask for her ID that would prove she was standing on her property? The follow-up mass ticketing of people who went to a meeting in support of Ms. Good is further proof that this was police bullying. The ultimate dismissal of charges, of the tickets, and disciplining of officers involved by the Police Chief confirms the abuse of power. Kudos to the Police Chief. Maybe those who disagree with the Rochester Police Chief could explain what he did wrong in your opinion.

constitution: 1, abuse of authority: 0
they are not all this bad, but without reprimands and consequences for abuse of power, some can get here
